Scholarships are awarded based on special interests, athletic achievements, academic achievements, a specific career interest, etc. Scholarships do not typically need to be paid back, but ensure you understand the stipulations of the scholarship before you accept it. Talk to your high school or college counselor about what scholarships are available and how to apply. Use the websites below to search for other scholarships you may qualify for.

Institutional Aid:

Most colleges offer scholarships to their students. Visit the Financial Aid Office of the college you plan to attend or research their scholarship availability on the college’s website. You may also contact the college you plan to attend and receive your Admissions Counselor’s contact information. Your Admissions Counselor will be able to provide information to you about what scholarships may be available to you.

Osher Scholarship:

University of Missouri offers the Osher Scholarship for students pursuing their first baccalaureate degree who have accumulated a five-year interruption in their studies. This can include time between high school graduation and college. Students must be U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident, plan to participate in the workforce after graduation, and have a financial need. Service Scholarships:

Army ROTC- Full-tuition scholarships and living expense allowances are available through participation in the Army ROTC. For more information visit goarmy.com/rotc/scholarships.html. AmeriCorps Education Award-Serving AmeriCorps is an additional way to receive a scholarship for college. After completing the program you will receive an award that can be applied to past, present or future loans.
